Rent Officer Referral Project the Technology
23-Apr-2004
In August last year the DWP announced a £4.6 million boost to help local councils improve the way they administer housing benefit. Bradford, Comino and the Rent Service submitted a joint bid designed to benefit all local authorities who currently use Comino's Universal Document Management and Workflow solution. Comino will supply Bradford the electronic interface with the Rent Service to facilitate the electronic transfer of Housing Benefit casework data between housing benefit providers and the Rent Service.
Bradford was one of the two hundred and seventy authorities which were successful in securing a share of the £4.6 million.

PRO COMPLIANCE
20-Feb-2003
Comino is developing an Electronic Records Management Module to complement its Electronic Document Management system. This module will be PRO compliant and, as part of the same project, we are taking the opportunity to bring our existing functionality in line with the requirements of the Public Records Office 2002 specification. We expect to submit the complete system for full accredited compliance in the third quarter of 2004.
The primary driver behind this development is the growing adoption of the PRO standard in Local and Central Government ITT's for corporate document management systems. There are clear signs that private organisations (e.g. Social Housing clients) are also beginning to adopt this standard and Comino believes it is a matter of time before this capability is accepted as the norm in private sector companies. Nevertheless we recognise that many clients may not wish to adopt Electronic Records Management (ERM) for some time and therefore Comino have chosen to implement ERM as an optional module as part of the Enterprise range of products.
